Why the push-pull force gauge giving inaccurate readings? — Find out here!
2026-09-17 10:40

The push-pull force gauge is a force-measuring instrument used to test push and pull load values. Based on the display method, it is categorized into two main types: analog (dial) and digital. It is widely used in quality control testing to measure various tensile and compressive forces.

There are two main reasons for inaccurate measurements with digital force gauges:

I. Incorrect use of the push-pull force gauge

1. Never exceed the measurement range during testing, and do not apply loads in directions other than the intended push or pull axes.

2. Do not apply the load directly to the end of the test rod when no attachment (test head) is connected.

3. Do not use damaged, bent, or deformed attachments, as this will result in measurement errors.

4. When using a digital push-pull force gauge, check the battery voltage before use; recharge promptly if the voltage is low to avoid measurement inaccuracies.

II. Lack of regular maintenance and servicing

1. If the gauge is not used for an extended period, it should be charged periodically.

2. After each use, store the gauge in its case at room temperature; never expose it to direct sunlight.

3. Do not store the gauge in damp or poorly ventilated areas, as this can cause rust or damage to the instrument.
